What is the HydraFacial™ treatment?

What kind of skin types is HydraFacial™ suitable for?

What happens in the HydraFacial™ facial?
In the HydraFacial™ treatment, the patented HydroPeel® treatment head is used to moisturise, soften and cleanse the skin. A serum that softens the sebum and deep cleanses the skin gently is used in the cleansing. Glucosamine and lactic acid are used as the exfoliating ingredients of the serum, which also includes yeast extract and seaweed extract as skin pampering ingredients. Combined with the HydroPeel® heads, this serum exfoliates the skin effectively. The excellent exfoliating properties of HydroPeel® heads is based on their patented spiral shape; the multiple grooves in the spiral exfoliate the skin effectively and painlessly with every motion.
After cleansing and exfoliation comes the vortex pore cleansing phase, in which blackheads and whiteheads are emptied without a comedone extractor and the related unpleasant sensations. At this point, a serum containing salicylic acid developed for this stage of the facial is used as the active solution. Salicylic acid deeply cleanses the skin while also loosening up the dry and dead skin cells. After the cleansing, exfoliating and vortex pore cleansing phases are complete, the active ingredient infusion phase begins.
In the infusion phase an antioxidant serum in the form of an extremely moisturising solution is used. The Antiox serum contains plenty of antioxidants as well as hyaluronic acid. The substances are absorbed very effectively deep inside the skin thanks to the vortex created by the HydroPeel® head and the small size of the substances’ molecules.

What kind of skin reactions are normal after the HydraFacial™ treatment?
Even though HydraFacial™ is not actually a chemical peel, chemical peeling agents, AHA and BHA, are used in the HydraFacial™ treatment. Usually, the skin does not react to the amount of acid in HydraFacial, but it is possible that in extremely rare cases, very sensitive skin may be tender to the touch, show redness, become brownish on the surface, sting/tingle/prickle/itch, peel even heavily or become swollen, and care products may sting on the skin. However, these symptoms are temporary, and you do not need to worry.
