How fast does nail polish dry?

The drying of nail polish is affected by many factors. Among other things, the product used, the composition of the polish, the solvents contained in the polish and the pigment used all affect the drying of the nail polish. In fact, the drying of nail polish is actually an evaporation process. The polish “dries” as the solvents it contains slowly evaporate from the polish. Nail polish dries from top to bottom. The top layer of the polish may already feel fully dry after 10 minutes, but closer to the bottom, the polish may still be wet. In that case, the polish may be ruined if the nails hit anything even if the polish appears fully dry on the surface. The more pigment the polish contains, the more slowly it usually dries. If the polish contains a lot of pigment, it becomes thick and the solvents evaporate more slowly. For this reason, an intense red polish dries much more slowly than a polish with a pearly pale colour. Very often you may find that a polish containing plenty of pigment is not fully dry even after an hour. The drying speed of polish is always individual and polish-specific, and it cannot be predicted in advance in any way. In our pedicures, we always use quick drying top coats and quick dry products, but despite all this, we still cannot guarantee that the polish will be completely dry right after the pedicure. Therefore, you should come wearing open toe sandals (if weather permits), if you want to keep your polish in good condition. Please note that Beauty Center Fenix is not responsible for the nail polish after you leave the pedicure. Wearing socks and shoes over fresh polish can ruin it easily. Gel polish naturally has no such risks.

Paraffin treatment

Paraffin treatment is based on the effect of slowly radiating low heat, and it is especially well suited for pedicures. The deeply moisturising warm paraffin nourishes the skin and eases pain and stiffness. The warm, relaxing paraffin also stimulates blood circulation, opens the pores and smooths out lined skin. The end result of the treatment is soft skin that also looks healthier. The moisturising paraffin treatment is an excellent choice for winter pedicures, and especially bringing out beautiful summer toes after the stress winter has caused on the skin of the feet.

What happens in a paraffin treatment?

At the start of the treatment, the feet are exfoliated with a moisturising exfoliant so that the skin can absorb the active ingredients as effectively as possible. After this, the feet are immersed in a paraffin bath 5 times. As it congeals, the paraffin forms a “shell” on the skin, which is then covered with a protective plastic bag and a terry cloth heat sock that intensifies the effects of the treatment. The paraffin is allowed to sit on the feet for 10–15 minutes. When application period is over, the paraffin shell is removed from the feet. After the treatment, the skin of the feet has a heavenly softness.
