The tax administration’s new guidelines forbid beauty care professionals from accepting epassi as a payment method from January 1, 2024.

The Tax Administration has recently clarified the guidelines for foot care services paid with Epassi’s Hyvinvointietu.

The new official guidelines are very clear: in the future, only a trained podiatrist or therapist who is a healthcare professional and belongs to Valvira’s register can be part of the Epassi site network.

According to the instructions of the Tax Administration, foot care services cannot be equated with massage services, and foot care services cannot be paid for with a massage benefit. With Epassi’s Hyvinvointiedu, you can pay foot care services as a health care service in the future only if the services are performed by a trained foot nurse or therapist. The service provider must be a healthcare professional who belongs to Valvira’s register. Since beauticians are not health care professionals, and therefore do not belong to Valvira’s register, beauticians’ right to accept epassii payments ends on January 1, 2024.

The change means that in the future, Epassii will require the names of healthcare professionals and Valvira IDs from the office offering foot treatments, and beauty care professionals do not have such IDs.

PERSONAL GIFT CARDS PAID WITH EPASSI IN HALF OF 2023 CAN NORMALLY BE REDEEMED WITHIN 6 MONTHS.

If you changed your epassi balance to a personal “gift card” at Kauneuskeskus Fenix, you can use your balance with us as normal even after January 1, 2024.

If you have made an epassi payment and then provided us with your contact information, you can find your balance in our cash system in your customer account. The balance can then be found with your name and the code provided by epassi and is now available to you at all our locations for 6 months after purchase.

If you did not send us your contact information, it has not been possible for us to connect the epassi you purchased to the right person, and in that case using the epassi balance later will be very difficult and the payment transaction will take a long time at the checkout. So hopefully you haven’t made epassi purchases remotely without notifying us.

After changing your epassi to a personal “gift card”, we have not sent you a gift card, but your unused balance can be found in our system with your name and the code found in the order confirmation you received from epassi. So you also saved the purchase receipt, which epassi sent right after you made the payment.

The balance converted from Epassi to a personal gift card has the normal validity period for our gift cards: 6 months. After this, the balance is removed from our system and is no longer available.
